A little railway, made for my son
I’m a dad in Sydney. My two-year-old loves watching trains, so I made this little world for us to enjoy together. You’re welcome to watch with us. It is a personal project shared for enjoyment, not an official railway service. These terms explain the permission to use it and a few practical limits. I means the individual who runs worldsbytrain.fun under the name Train Dad. "The site" means worldsbytrain.fun.
1. Come and enjoy the trains
You are welcome to use the site for personal enjoyment, including with your family or in a classroom. There is currently no charge or account required. Please use it lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, or place an unreasonable load on the service. I may restrict misuse to protect the site and other visitors.
2. Watching with children
This is something to enjoy together. A parent, carer or teacher should supervise young children, help with the controls and decide what is suitable for them. The site contains moving 3D scenes and sound. Use the pause and sound controls, take breaks, and stop if the movement or audio feels uncomfortable. This page is not asking a young child to enter into a contract.
3. A model, not a real-world guide
The routes, stations, buildings, trains and scenery are simplified, estimated or fictional. Do not rely on this site for travel planning, timetables, accessibility information, navigation or railway safety. Use official transport information for real journeys. This independent project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains, NSW Spatial Services, OpenStreetMap or OpenAI. References to ChatGPT describe how I made it, not a sponsorship.
4. Sharing and other people's work
You are welcome to share a link and post your own screenshots or short recordings of the experience. Please credit worldsbytrain.fun where practical and do not suggest an endorsement. This permission applies only to material I am entitled to license. It does not grant a licence to separately extract, redistribute or sell third-party music, data, software, trademarks or other material. Third-party and open-source licences continue to apply, and these terms do not narrow rights those licences or the law give you. See About & data (/about.html), the data-source notes (/data-source/) and Third-party software notices (/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt) for sources and applicable licences. Contact me before reusing my own material beyond the permission above.
5. Settings and third-party services
The app uses browser local storage to remember settings such as sound and appearance. You can remove those saved settings by clearing this site's browser data. The hosting service may process technical information needed to deliver the site, such as connection and request data, under its own policies. External websites and social platforms have their own terms and privacy practices. Please do not send me a child's name, photograph, location or other private information when reporting a problem.
6. A small project, with some limits
I will do my best to keep the trains running, but I cannot promise that the site will always be available, accurate, error-free, secure or compatible with every device. I may change or discontinue features. To the extent the law permits, the site is provided as available without additional warranties, and I am not liable for loss caused by interruptions, errors or reliance on this model. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Those rights take priority over anything inconsistent on this page.
7. Changes, questions and applicable law
If I change these terms, I will update the date above. Changes apply to future use, not retrospectively. If a change materially affects the permission to use the site, I will also put a notice on the site. If you do not want to use it on the updated terms, you can stop using it. New South Wales law applies, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction remain available; these terms do not require arbitration or remove access to your local courts where the law protects it.
